Bleeding Thru My Veins

Heloooo Dolls,

Saturday the 25th August was a big day for the Dolls. Not only was it pay day but it was the well anticipated Slutwalk and a mad doll rush to the Metropolitan Kingz music video.

So with 3 of our dolls and a silent BEE Manager we rushed off with suitcases brimmed with everything in our closets to our shoot Venue.

Turns out this venue was a house bigger than the Union Building. As we set off on the great trek up the driveway we were relieved to meet a couple of “Kingz” who selflessly helped us with our huge suitcases to the top of Kilimanjaro. We were met by a group of Metropolitan Kingz artists and crew who appeared not to speak English.

We sign languaged a request for direction but still couldn’t make sense of the sounds escaping their mouths. Thank goodness for Monde Dube, a personal friend of mine who speaks fluent English.

He pointed to the top of the glass house and told us to pick a room and get ready. We could handle that, right? Of course we could, and handle we did! We sought out the biggest and best room complete with en suite Jacuzzi bath, lounge and balcony and made ourselves right at home.

In this Metropolitan Kingz world, we were the Queens, prancing around with our freshly pedicured bare feet like we were above the mere mortals roaming the other levels of our castle.

Until of course the great King himself walked in as tall as an angel with a voice like thunder. He commanded respect from every Queen as we dropped our GHD’s and tripped over a stiletto in nervous excitement. Speechless we just managed to stop ourselves from bowing down, as he politely introduced himself as Ndaba Mandela. Yep, he’d come to claim back his throne from us and for a fleeting moment we were taken back in time to 1976 wearing school dresses, as we met the hero who had come to save us. I bravely stepped forward to shake his hand, he cracked a smile and low and behold… the hand was human! I was quickly brought back to 2012 in a mansion shooting a music video with Metropolitan Kings. The big guy was the producer….and alas, we were still just Dolls. But I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else. I mean… check it out!!

Metropolitan Kingz are a group of artists including Slege Lee, Gage, Novey and Mboso, to name a few, who are under Rebel Soul Entertainment and “Bleeding thru my Veins” is their latest Hip Hop song.

As the day wore on we were hard at work, getting every scene right and thanks to our Booze sponsors for quenching our thirst and assisting everybody to become more enthusiastic and dare I say passionate.

We were soon kicked out of our Boudoir which was to be turned into a pillow fighting set. When we fell from grace we fell hard and were banished to the servants quarters underneath the main floor of the house. Yes…. we were a little disappointed that we no longer had our en suite and our breath-taking view, and that we couldn’t watch the huge cinema in our new quarters or play in the gym….. Okay so if it was really the servants quarters, “Helpers” would carry the same clout as doctors or lawyers….. or Dolls.

As night fell and we steadily imbibed, the excitement died down and we suddenly realized that the Porcelain dolls had not eaten. It’s a common practice amongst industry organisers that it’s forbidden to feed the models. Yes Black Faff, I’m talking to you!

Typical Doll problems…… what do we do, dolls? We get drunkarexia!

Things heated up as tempers flared, hormones blared, Nigerians revealed themselves, Models misbehaved and Chinese shoes got boozed on.

To get the dirty low down of what really went down keep your eyes peeled for our show. Until then… A real Doll Never tells…. Unless of course …. We’re doing it for TV!
