My Father My Monster

So the book of the month for September is by our very own local author, Hawks spokesperson and Hunk extraordinaire, McIntosh Polela.
The Artist formerly known as McIntosh Nzimande.
But unlike P. Diddy, Puffy, Piddy and Prince, his name change was not to reinvent himself or trick younger fans.
Instead he captivated his audience and almost brought us to tears as he explained the journey of his childhood memoirs from Nzimande to Polela.
I was hoping to have finished reading the book before writing this post but  being the big cry baby that I am, I have been struggling to get through it’s painful pages.
Today, when I think back on McIntosh’s cheerful, confident face it’s almost impossible to deem that behind those bright smiling eyes is a story of torture such as this.
Or even how a well balanced, strong and driven individual could rise from a nightmare so inconceivable.

The Launch was just as successful as his book, bustling with the stench of importance as many respected public figures in the entertainment industry arrived for this event.
Now I am a book launch junkie and have yet to see an entire crowd silenced without even the clinking of a wine glass as  Katie Mohamed interviewed him. We were not only silenced but touched and inspired.
Having spotted Tshepo Maseko looking a little worse for wear, I realized that he too couldn’t contain his emotion... or his Maybelline Dream Matt Mouse foundation that was failing him.
I must say though having fallen in love with Parsons over the years I was thrilled at his warm acceptance to take a pic with me.
Myself, Adrian and my little sister Stacey Bonelle.

Mingled with the interesting and extremely friendly crowd afterwards where I met the most sparkling persona that belongs to a beautiful flawless face proudly peeking out of a mane of perfection. I am referring to SABC’s best kept secret, Adrian Abader, who stood protectively next to McIntosh.

Once I had convinced him that my initial intentions of jumping the Magnificent Mac the minute he stepped off the stage, had been aborted after hearing his moving story, he reluctantly allowed a closely guarded picture with the Big Mac.

Adrian also introduced me to his lovely fiancĂ© Tebogo Theledi who he will wed in April next year as well as his gorgeous mini-Mac-me, Shadow.
Feisty News Anchor Chriselda Lewis and Journo Philile Masango were all sweet smiles and innocence when I found them stashed securely at the bar.

Well I must say *BBMWhewface* it’s been a crazy busy month for my photog and I, so look out for posts on all the naughty and nice things we have been up to.

XOXO Cins...
